They have the tools. They have the talent.
Now let’s see if they can deliver a product that does justice to one of my most beloved movie franchises of all time.
Sony Pictures’ classic film, Ghostbusters, will be making its first Halloween Horror Nights appearance at both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood. HHN is promising to bring “the most memorable scenes, characters and supernatural spirits” to life this haunt season and I just hope it’s not a disaster of biblical proportions.
The handling of an iconic film like 1984’s Ghostbusters requires the utmost care and respect. Anything less is as dangerous a prospect as crossing the streams or bringing demonic dogs to an apartment party. This 35 year old film deserves nothing but the best haunt representation. I am truly hopeful Universal can deliver. Check out the maze description:
In each maze, guests will follow in the footsteps of the Ghostbusters – Peter, Ray, Egon and Winston – as they venture through artfully recreated scenes from the film, including the firehouse, New York Public Library and the Temple of Gozer, as an army of ghoulish spirits, hideous specters and ectoplasm-dripping phantasms attack from every corner. As they delve deeper into the maze, guests will come face-to-face with an array of paranormal creatures, from the voracious Slimer to the all-powerful Gozer the Gozerian and in its ultimate destructor form – the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, to brave the demonic spirits and survive the night.
And, of course, they brought in a Twinkie. Although, it seems like it should be bigger…
Halloween Horror Nights 2019 will debut with a Fan Preview Night on Thursday, September 12, 2019 before launching into it’s official run on Friday the 13th. *muahaha*
