Tokyo Disney is introducing something that wasn’t there before!
Tokyo Disney has released a sneak preview of their Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast attraction and it looks oh-so-amazing! Starting in spring 2020, guests will be invited to board trackless vehicles and take a journey through the beloved 1991 animated film. Not only do these new ride vehicles resemble our favorite chipped teacup, they will actually spin and dance in rhythm to the film’s music, giving guests the feeling that they are truly experiencing a living, enchanted object.
The attraction will be coming to life in the new area of Fantasyland fully themed to Beauty and the Beast. Guests will be able to visit Belle’s quiet little town to explore the Village Shoppes and La Taverne de Gaston. The centerpiece will, of course, be the Beauty and the Beast Castle which will boast towers measuring 98 feet and house the Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast attraction.
This will be the first ride-through attraction to tell the tale as old as time and it will be the first time we see Belle and Beast in audio-animatronic form. Imagineers from Tokyo Disney worked closely with Disney Animators to bring these characters to life, including some who worked on the original film. Their attention to detail coupled with major advances in audio-animatronic technology paid off immensely. Take a look:
Nearly doubling the size of Fantasyland with the Beauty and the Beast themed area and the Fantasyland Forest Theatre is just one part of Tokyo Disneyland’s large-scale expansion plan. Tomorrowland will see The Happy Ride with Baymax attraction, a musical whip ride celebrating everyone’s favorite personal healthcare companion from Big Hero 6. Minnie’s Style Studio will be coming to Toontown as the first Disney character greeting location in Tokyo.
I don’t know about you guys, but I am definitely going to plan an adventure in the great wide somewhere (namely Tokyo) in 2020!
